The Center
Helping Obesity In Children End Successfully, Inc.
(C.H.O.I.C.E.S.) presents The "Sisters in the
LITE" (Lifestyle Intervention Teaching Exercise)
a grant supported program that pulls out all the
stops!
This
program originally started on January 27, 2007 at The
Atlanta Medical Wellness Center. After much
success, it has been expanded to include Beulah
Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur and Kennesaw
University in Kennesaw.
We are
accepting as Participants, young ladies between
the ages of 12-24 with a BMI
(Body Mass Index) above 26. They must be willing to take
charge of their lives, learn, and practice eating
healthy for at least 12 weeks. There will only be
25 participants for all the sites in
total. We are also accepting adult Volunteers
to make the experience more fun for everyone!
This is
not a diet program. Everyone will learn how to
sustain a healthy weight by making lifestyle changes.
We will be using "Bodyworks - A Toolkit for
Healthy Girls & Strong Women" created by the
Office on Women's Health, as the curriculum. Sisters
will be taught with trained professionals representing
fitness, nutrition, medical and behavioral
specialties.
