Every month the CDC highlights a fruit and vegetable that belong in a healthy diet. April's fruit of the month is the Asian pear. The Asian pear is a mix of a pear and an apple. Asian pears taste similar to the traditional European pear but is round and ripens on a tree like an apple. Asian pears are great in a fresh spring salad, and contain fiber, vitamin c, folic acid, and potassium.
