Expo to combine health, fun
PTA hopes to improve kids' diets

The Center Helping Obesity in
Children End Successfully, (CHOICES) and the Georgia PTA Cherokee Council
are hosting the first Children's Nutrition Education and Physical Activity
Exposition.
The program will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
March 25 at the Cherokee Recreation Center in Woodstock.
Dr. Titus Duncan, the medical specialist on
"Good Day Atlanta," kicks off the event. Woodstock Mayor Donnie
Henriques will cut the ribbon to begin the Family Fun Walk/Run.
The Walk/Run is a one-mile course. Visitors
will take part in activities such as school team exhibitions, talent
shows, mini nutrition workshops, health screenings, photo fun, arts and
crafts, sporting games and healthy food.
The expo will also feature a dance
exhibition and an aerobics session that will be repeated at regular
intervals for children and their parents to participate together.
As planning continues, the center staff is
asking for volunteers and sponsors who would like to participate in or
support the expo.
Admission for the expo and the Family Fun
